Thanks for stopping by Good Earth Guru, the online home of Good Earth Landscaping and Garden Shoppe located in Lake Charles, LA. We welcome this opportunity to be of service. We have served the Lake Area since 1974. I earned my bachelor degree in horticulture at McNeese State University and my application of the many acquired skills has primarily been landscaping, grounds maintenance, and irrigation.
I have no doubt this is my God-given vocation and have always embraced it as such. Unlike many owners, I personally enjoy working ‘in the field — hands on’ but, as in all businesses, I am often required to spend time out of the field taking care of other business concerns. However, the next generation, my son Joshua, is my right hand man now and is charged with the responsibility of insuring our tradition of personal service.
Service is still the key and main priority at Good Earth Landscaping and Garden Shoppe. We are not the smallest or the largest of horticulture companies. We own equipment on par with the ‘big boys’ but give personal service on par with a smaller company. We keep it small on purpose. We definitely believe that bigger is not always better.
Good Earth provides its services ‘in house’. We do not subcontract our landscaping, grounds maintenance or irrigation. And, needless to say, we have all the required insurances and licenses.
All companies claim to give the best value for the dollar. A ‘high price’ guarantees you no more than a ‘low price.’ However, we all expect the best no matter what we pay. And this is rightly so! We never under-size, under-state, or under-estimate just to get a project. We do our best to give you our “true” professional opinion. We will price a project fairly and within your budget and make adjustments to fit your needs if at all possible. Your satisfaction and continued patronage is our foremost goal.

When I'm not working in the field on landscaping or drawing up plans or working in the Garden Shoppe, I'm usually busy with my 5 grandchildren. Sometimes I have to go back to work just to rest! Also love to take a ride through the country on my Harley and play the keyboards and harp when time permits. 
When I'm not busy at Good Earth making plans for new jobs or out in the field supervising the landscaping crews, I'm spending time with my son, Brayden. It's amazing how a 1 1/2 year old can keep you on your toes! I love relaxing and spending time with friends and family in my spare time.
